Corporate Banking Credit Solutions (CBCS) focuses on late-stage companies within SVB's portfolio of businesses. CBCS Managing Director's primary responsibilities will include: (i) serving as the CBCS expert to their Corporate Banking clients & partners; (ii) ensuring team's high standard for deal execution and portfolio management; and (iii) leading / developing a team of VPs/Associates. The team provides creative leveraged capital solutions to corporate finance clients in the technology sector.


Responsibilities

Market Facing Late-Stage Lending & Leverage Finance Expertise

  • Serve as the Late-Stage Lending expert to Relationship Management and Credit Solutions partners, leading the evaluation, structuring, pitching and execution of debt opportunities;
  • Act as primary CBCS coverage professional for portfolio companies;
  • Build / maintain strong alignment across the institution (e.g. RM/CS/Credit) as well as with clients / prospects; Remain current on market, sector and competitive trends; deliver insights and points of view on loan types and credit / performance trends; identify opportunities to innovate our solutions.

Deal Execution / Portfolio Management

  • Accountable for the entire financing process, including evaluating, pitching, structuring, underwriting, executing, negotiating and closing transaction
  • Oversight of all aspects of portfolio management, including database analytics and quarterly reviews;
  • Provide expert guidance to team throughout processes, including direct execution engagement when needed
  • Drive coordination / execution with Syndications & Relationship Management partners when needed.

Administrative / Team Management

  • Monthly / quarterly reporting on team's performance / objectives;
  • Allocation of resources, including workload management;
  • Manage team's skillset and career development; retain and recruit top talent.
  • Utilizes substantial decision making and independent judgement in negotiations and building relationships. Influences and drive decisions;
  • Exercises judgment and authority prudently and with proper balance for the best interests of the clients and SVB;
  • Manages a team and is responsible for decisions regarding performance management; goal setting; and professional development.
  • Recommends new business development opportunities and wells as decisions related to portfolio management and performance management of team.
  • Highly skilled at structuring, negotiating, closing and managing the most complex financing solutions to meet client needs;
  • Skilled at proactively managing large and complex portfolio of borrowing relationships;
  • Capable at ensuring resources are properly deployed for optimal outcomes in both pipeline and portfolio;
  • Skilled at aligning cross-functional teams to deliver for the client while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with one another.

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $232,010- $348,014 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications

12-15 years of related experience in leveraged finance, investment banking or technology corporate banking/finance or high School Diploma/GED with 16-19 years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or equivalent required. MBA or CFA preferred but not required.
