Overview

The Procurement Intern will be responsible for assisting the procurement and subcontracts team with various tasks.

Responsibilities

Subcontracts

    Develop requests for proposals (RFPs) for specific scopes of work on various projects
  • Responsible for providing estimating support in order to win new projects
  • Develop relationships with existing subcontractors as well as foster relationships with new potential subcontractors
  • Work with the project site teams to coordinate project needs
  • Draft subcontracts using existing templates
  • Provide administrative support for subcontracting and project functions

Procurement

  • Assists in the schedule development for project proposals
  • Assists the estimating department regarding equipment scope and price
  • Negotiate best and final pricing from selected short-listed suppliers,
  • Ensure that the company does not enter into any purchase order with an external party which may harm the company's policies and practices by performing due diligence and following vendor pre-qualification process.
  • Secure a completed purchasing requisition with final engineering documents, arrive at a mutually agreed set of terms and conditions and conform all purchase order exhibits/attachments
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
  • Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees
  • Must be able to multi-task
