We have an exciting new opportunity for an exceptional candidate to be part of the USA Environment and Society (E&S) team to help serve our clients in both the Energy and Chemicals Sectors and in the US as Social Consultant. The position can be based in the Gulf region or potentially elsewhere in the US. The Social Consultant will be responsible for delivering project work in collaboration with our Environment & Society team, cultivating new client relationships, and helping to grow a USA Social consulting practice. You will have responsibilities for technical excellence and client relationships, with a particular focus on our resource, energy and industrial client service lines, working closely with the larger Worley organization. You would also support business development activities, working with senior leaders of the E&S team, by identifying clients and opportunities, and building client networks.

Primary Objectives and Accountabilities of the Role

*Working directly with Social Lead, clients, and/or various Worley project teams to complete:

  • Social research, impact assessments and management plans
  • Stakeholder engagement and social performance plans and activities
  • Communication materials, such as project information sheets
  • Business development, inclusive of client liaison, internal networking, pursuit writing and coordination
  • Project management of social scopes of work, including resourcing and budget
  • Mentoring Environment & Society team members to support the delivery of social scopes of work

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors in engineering, environmental science, environmental planning, or equivalent; Advanced degree(s) preferred in a relevant subject area
  • 8+ years of professional experience, preferably with an environmental consulting organization, an operator, contractor or regulator
  • Stakeholder engagement and social research experience in consulting, industry, government or NGO settings
  • Ability to cultivate, manage and develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly developed written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills including facilitation, presentation and negotiation capabilities
  • Ability to provide high level strategic analysis, advice and recommendations on opportunities and challenges relating to social consulting
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous engagement practices.
