Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively seeking an Engineer with commercial diving and bridge inspection Team Leader certification and experience to perform structural inspections both above and below water. The successful new hire will be seated in our Baton Rouge (preferred) or New Orleans, LA office. You will be working with a professional engineering dive/bridge inspection team that provides consulting services to clients primarily in the gulf region. Assisting our overall Inspection & Rehabilitation (I&R) team will require occasional travel both domestically and internationally. The principal function of this position is to be part of a team that evaluates marine and bridge structures through above and below water engineering inspections, follow-on report preparation and development of structural repair designs. We perform these inspections for states (department of transportation), municipalities, private clients, marine terminal operators, oil and gas / LNG plants, the US Navy and many more!
You will utilize Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and National Highway Institute (NHI) criteria while inspecting bridges via buckets, snoopers, boats, ladders, safety harness, and other equipment. If interested, you will be offered training to join our rope access (SPRAT) bridge inspection team. When not delivering inspections, you will help review reports, perform quality control reviews, assist with submittals, etc.
